This was stitched on one side, gathered and held at the waist by a girdle. Women wore it as a lower garment. It later evolved into a skirt with a drawstring called the ghaghri. The ghaghri was a narrow skirt, made from five and a half meters of fabric, the same length as the original antariya. The skirt in India is known by many different names, depending on the regional style, the most popular, by far, being the ghaghra.It was the flare that made the ghaghra such a sumptuous garment and one so captivating that it was celebrated both in poetry and art. The ghaghra is really a long skirt, which has the construction of a simple gathered skirt or a flared gored skirt. It covers the legs fully or partially, depending on the norms of propriety among different ethnic groups, although a long ghaghra usually relates to more puritanical modesty. Another term used was the lehenga, a compound of the Sanskrit words lanka (waist) and anga (body or limb). The lehenga is generally associated with a panelled skirt that is narrower than the ghaghra. However, there are no rigid definitions and the terms have found more generic usages. This and other styles of the skirt are very popular in North India. Changing fashions and foreign influences probably transformed this straight, simple garment into a full panelled skirt. Regional differences developed, with variations in length and the number and shape of panels, which were eight rectangular or triangular. The most voluminous skirts could be made up of over 20 meters of cloth.

I like this product, even though the fit is not perfect.I wear a 38 / 40 DD depending on the maker or if there's padding, so I purchased the 2X as I'm bigger on top and these pieces aren't stretchy.I normally have issues with tops b/c sometimes I have to buy them to fit my chest but they end up being too big in the stomach.Anyway, I'm able to zip this top all the way comfortably and with support.However, the top is loose on my back a bit, and the straps as well----the back of this top and straps do not lay directly on my skin, they puff up a bit.I'm guessing that if I purchased the 1X, I would not be able to zip the top but the rest would fit me fine.So I guess if you're the average woman with an average or smaller chest and larger bottom and you wear a 14 / 16, go with the 1X.But if you have a more ample chest and broader shoulders, note that this top is not stretchy of course being that it's vinyl.I actually wore a fitted cotton / spandex tank under this top when I went out and it worked out fine without a bra due to the support of this top.

As any woman will attest, it is absolutely traumatic to find a swimsuit that fits well, looks well, covers every flaw whether real or imagined, etc. I had bought and returned probably 8 suits before this one because of one thing or another. Review of Blue Satin Victorian Steel Boned Back Lacing Overbust Corset with Hand Embriodery LVG9801

This is actually a new picture of the corset when I bought it the picture looked like it was actually embroidered not sequined. I was very disappointed because I don't like sequins. Other then that it was very nice quality, it fits very nice and for those who like the idea but don't want to suffocate the sizing chart is actually very good. At its tightest my corset is snug but I can still breath.
The boning doesn't poke at you and the lacing looks something like a shoe string but its fairly strong and very easily replaceable if needed. The only thing that isn't good quality is the strength of the garter clips, you will brake them if your not super careful.
All and all you are getting a great product for the price.
The only reason I give it a four out of five is because I didn't get what I wanted, but with the new picture you can see what your getting.

In the past, I have ordered a couple of custom made corsets that cost me upwards of $200 a piece. I am on stage and sometimes have needed a good corset for a costume. However, the price tag is staggering and I don't want to spend that much each time I need a corset. This corset was a very nice option. It looks good, it fits well and it's well constructed. For the money you really can't beat it. I plan to buy a couple more from them.

The only thing is you must email them about the sizing because they don't size their corsets the way other manufacturers do. It's not exactly by waist size. Make sure to look at their chart. Also, once you find your size on the chart, you might want to go down a size. I bought the correct size according to the chart and feel like I might have been better off one size smaller.

I've been wearing corsets for years- and usually I get custom made, quite expensive ones made to fit my body. However, I also go to a lot of costume events and I wanted to add a few new looks to my collection without spending the average $300 and up each for my new corsets. I bought this corset- an emerald green velvet piece with some lovely embroidery sequined work on the front. I did not expect much from a $119 corset, readymade, sold at Amazon. But I got my corset, was surprised by how sturdy it is! I am a plus sized woman with a lot to hold in and this overbust works like a charm. I wore it to a huge costume festival and was complimented dozens of times, even my a professional corset maker! Now, this corset is not going to give you the super-hourglass shape that a high end custom made one will, but with proper lacing, you can get close, and for the price, this is honestly the best corset-buy out there. I plan to purchase a black one from the same company. Highly recommended, even from a corset snob.

I think salwar kameez would make a nice pregnancy dress. The draw string can be adjusted for waist size, there is ample space in the salwar to keep belly comfortable, and the kameez hangs loosely to hide any bulge of stomach.

Review of American Apparel Women's California Fleece Pant

I have been looking for fleece sweatpants with a drawstring waist to have something comfortable to wear as I recommit myself to an exercise program.These seemed to fit the bill, but after receiving them, there are drawbacks that make them a bad fit for me.

I am admittedly an "average" woman with a bit of extra baggage - I'll put it out there to help others with their purchase - I am 5'4" and 160, and usually wear about a size 12.Most of the time I can wear a medium in ladies sweatpants, occasionally a large.

I ordered an XL due to personal experience (my cousin is 5' tall and 95 pounds and wears a L in Am. Apparel t-shirts, go figure) and due to other reviews stating that American Apparel sizes run small.They were not kidding!Here are my personal pros and cons:

PROS:

Very soft fabric and well made!

CONS:

Runs very small, order up to 2 sizes larger than what you usually would.

VERY low-waisted so if you don't have the perfect figure it either A) won't cover it all or B) won't stay up.

Gets longer as the size goes up so at my height, by the time you order an XL it is approximately 7 inches too long and would have to be shortened.

Fabric is a lot lighter weight than what my assumtion of "fleece" was - it's more of a very lightweight cotton.Beware of panty lines and bulges if you have any.

In summary, if you are built small or are in good shape and like very low rise pants, these would be a great choice for you!

If you have some extra pounds or a few chubby parts here and there, a slightly heavier fabric, higher waist and something that runs more true to size would be a MUCH better choice and fit.Ideally we would all have the perfect figure, but I am a bit skeptical (and weary) of brands where an XL is too small for a whole lot of people.

I bought this for a cruise I am taking in May.Don't know if I'll be brave enoguh to wear the top (I'm not well-endowed on top, but it could be cute), but the skirt is a very versatile cover up and so comfortable.The fabric is light weight and you just wrap and tuck like a towel or knot a corner.It is long enough to wear as a strapless cover-up dress even and would reach to the knees. Very good buy.

Review of Moving Comfort Maia Bra

I recently received my Moving Comfort Maia bra, size 38DD.I have to say, I was so blown away by this bra that I immediately ordered a second one in a different color!

First, I'll start with the cons...

1.It is pretty high cut.There is no sexy cleavage with this baby... you can barely see any cleavage at all.But let's be realistic, this is a sport's bra... and not those barely there sports bras that you see in the fitness magazines!

2.It's not quite as supportive as other sports bras I've had.I still have a little bounce, but I don't feel like my boobs are going anywhere.It's certainly not back injuring bounce, and it doesn't bother me for the activities I do... joggers or jumpers might want a little more support.

3.The straps are not adjustable.I don't find this to be a problem, but I could see where it might be an issue for some people.

4.The band is a little tight, but then again, it is supposed to be snug as a sports bra.I would advise that if your regular bra is a little tight, you may want to go up a size for this sport's bra.

Now for the pros...

1.It fits.I can't tell you how many times I've ordered bras online and they come in and don't fit right.They expect women with larger boobs to have the same shapes and fits as women with smaller sizes.Many times, the larger bras will either try to mould you into a cone or squish you into a pancake.This bra does neither.My boobs look awesome.The cups are nice and round, and because of the high neck I don't get the dreaded quad boob.I miss the fantastic cleavage this bra might give me, but I'll trade that for the comfort!

2.It seperates.I can't tell you how many uniboobs I've had over the years after trying to squish myself into a typical sports bra.Today, I'm wearing this bra with a tight t-shirt, and you can tell that there are two of them in there.

3.It puts them in the right place.My silhouette from both directions looks great.Often with sports bras, my boobs either look great from the side (uniboob squishes them together in the center), or they look great from the front but I have to contend with pancake boobs.Now I can go out for hikes with friends and not be so self-conscious.

4.The straps stay put.Sometimes I feel like 10% of my day is spent lifting wayward straps off of my upper arms and back up to my shoulders.No matter how tight I make the straps, it never fails to happen.I even started only buying adjustable strap bras so that I can criss-cross the straps in the back so they don't fall down.With this bra, I haven't had to worry about it once.It really is awesome.

5.Ok, so this might not initially seem like a pro, but the high neck can actually be useful.I think I'm going to use this bra under some of my low cut shirts that look fine on a normal person, but look vulger with my size.I can get away with wearing a tank under and showing some cleavage on the weekends... but I need something that covers up a little more at work.By letting this bra peek through, I'm letting it do double duty as a bra and a layering peice.

So, my love-hate relationship with my boobs might finally be resolved thanks to this great bra.I bought it because I've been going on lots of hikes and wanted something with a better fit under my hiking gear... but now I think I'll be using this bra for everyday wear also.
